CHOC’S MOU WITH MSUNDUZI HOSPICE

A groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding has being signed between CHOC – KZN’ s Divisional Manager Agie Govender and Msunduzi Hospice’s CEO Warren Oxford – Huggett. This MOU paves the way for families of children with cancer to continue to receive supportive care when they return to the community.

Supportive care in the form of Social Work services is provided by CHOC whilst the  mother /caregiver is with the child at the CHOC LODGE. This supportive care happens whilst the

the child receives treatment for cancer and life threatening blood disorders.

Many families who return home hardly ever have access to supportive care after this. The MOU facilitates this support in both the urban and rural areas of Msunduzi.
