The Western Cape Division of CHOC is in need of the following:
Your support is greatly appreciated.
All Facilities
Running Costs:
Any monetary assistance to pay for the running cost of our facilities. This includes food, rates and taxes, municipal charges, and fuel for the vehicles.
Grocery Vouchers & Groceries:
Vouchers for food outlets or non perishable food such as flour, sugar, tea, coffee, sugar, tinned food etc. Donations of fresh food & meat are always needed. Baking ingredients to turn a birthday into a special day with a cake
Cleaning Agents:
Cleaning agents such as dishwashing liquid, washing powder, jik, handy andy, etc.
Toiletries:
Toiletries to assist patients and/or caregivers such as soap, wash cloths, tissues, toilet paper, body lotion, deodorant, shampoo etc. We also provide toiletry care bags to patients and/or caregivers in the hospitals.
Clothing:
We are constantly in need of children and adult clothes to assist parents during the lengthy stay at the facilities. We also assist the children with pajamas while they are in the hospital.
Linen:
Bedding such as duvets, duvet covers, sheets, pillows, pillowcases. We also need bath and kitchen towels.
Entertainment:
Educational toys & games. These are used, should the children be too ill to play outside. (Please note that while all donations are appreciated, some second hand toys could pose a hygiene challenge as our children, in particular our bone marrow transplant children often have compromised immune systems).
Arts & Crafts:
We use these to entertain the children, but also to teach their caregivers new skills. These could include knitting needles and wool, fabric scraps, beads, croquet needles and thread, paint, play dough, crayons, colouring books, paper etc.
Offices:
Our CHOC Office and House Managers’ offices require printer ink, office stationery, and A4 printer paper on an ongoing basis in order to continue providing quality service to our children and their families.
CHOC House Plumstead
